iceberg series

iceberg a | watercolor, gouache, ink | 2010

Been wanting to work more on this series since the start of the year. Still in the beginning stages. It's hard to see the gloss finish on the iceberg itself from this photo. I'd like to play around with different finishes and perhaps different materials altogether.

The spark of this idea was to create something devoid of human emotion, serene, and cold. Probably has to do with how I wanted to start 2010: less introspection.

Speaking of 2010. I've come to notice there are clusters of people who say "twenty-ten" vs. "two-thousand-ten." I'm the former. Those who say the latter tend to bring this to my attention, followed by questioning and a passive-aggressive statement about why their method is better.

Well, there goes the "less introspection" agenda... now I can see why this series is still a work in progress.
